Product Watch March 2017

Product Watch March

It’s time for another product watch, I’ve found a few new bits in the last few weeks. Here’s the best of what I found.  Have you found any new dairy free products you love lately?

Koko Original Milk (in fridge)

koko fresh

We are long time fans of Koko milk alternative made from coconut, and the boys especially love the chocolate milk. This is the original but now found in the fridge rather than the long life version which is on the free from aisle. Delighted to see a fresh version of this available. I found in Tesco but I imagine it will be available in all the usual supermarkets.

Koko Dairy Free Original Plain Coconut Yogurt

I’m really looking forward to trying this one out. I am making a lot of smoothies lately and I think this would be the perfect companion. It is dairy free and soya free. Available in Dunnes Stores and Tesco.

Tesco 74% Ivory Coast Dark Chocolate

Ivory Coast Plain Chocolateplain choc ingredients

Both the Ryleand chocolate from Aldi & Tesco and Tesco dark chocolate in the red wrapper bars now contain milk, where they used to have a may contain milk label. I have been looking for a replacement with decent but not too expensive chocolate for baking with. I found a delicious chocolate in Tesco which is 74% but not too bitter. So far I used it in Chocolate Seed Soldiers which is a healthy nut and grain bar with a thin layer of chocolate on top,  and it is perfect for this type of recipe. It is on the main sweets and chocolate aisle in Tesco.  Unfortunately this is also a may contain milk but we had no reactions here.

Tesco Free From Jam Tarts

Jam Tarts

I’ve spotted a new milk free product on the Free From aisle in my local Tesco. 6 Assorted Jam Tarts. They look very jammy and sticky, I’m sure the boys would love them. We haven’t tried them ourselves yet. They are Gluten, Wheat and Milk Free.

Asda Free From Gingerbread Men

Free From Gingerbread Men

I received a box of these in the goody bag at the Allergy Blog Awards UK and managed to pack them carefully into my Ryanair carry on luggage and deliver safely to the two little boys at home. I found the biscuits too sweet for me, but the boys loved them and that’s who they’re for! They are dairy free, gluten free and wheat free and available in Asda stores.

Disclaimer: I have written about the Gingerbread men which was a gift at the Allergy Blog Awards because we liked them. All other products were purchased by me or photographed by me. I have not received any payment to write about these products and all opinions as always are my own.
