is it possible to get the chocolate cookie shots in Dublin. I am vegan and tasted them when someone brought them back from holidays and I think they are delicious
Hi Laura, I follow Weight Watchers and have recently just gone dairy free. Porridge bread is a huge thing for me, but it’s made on 500 mls of yogurt! I’ve tried making it on Alpro Almond and Coconut but it’s rotten. Any thoughts? The recipe also contains 2 tsps of bicarb soda and 1/2 tsp of salt. Obviously the bicarb wont’ react with the soya yogurt. I haven’t tried the Alpro plain yet. Anyway I just thought I’d ask. No worries if you’ve no thoughts on the matter! Thank you. Jenny
Hi Jenny,I was following weight watchers at the time I put up the recipe. I made it with the alpro plain yogurt and I thought it tasted fine. There’s a slightly different version here but also using the alpro plain if you wanted to give that a go http://www.greenleafygael.com/traditional-irish-porridge-bread-gluten-free-vegan/.
Hi Laura, thanks for that, yes, I finally got the Alpro plain (not the almond or coconut, which I think was my mistake) and it’s great, no real difference at all. Delighted. I had seen the green leafy gael one too thanks. The only adjustment needed I found is a longer cooking time, 50 in tin, 20 out of it, although I do like a crusty loaf so that’s prob why. Cheers!
Oh 50 mins is interesting, I think my oven is very fast. Or hotter than it says it is. I will try this again soon and adjust time in recipe maybe. Thanks again!

Hi Laura, The choc brownies in Aldi are amazing. You just add 125mls of water and bake for 25 mins. A big hit in our house. Mary.
I must have a look for them, thanks for the tip off.
