Product Watch – February 2014
Lots of new products for February! Firstly, we have Fruit Heroes, a fruit bar. They are more than 93% fruit and the rest sunflower oil. Zero other ingredients. Gluten and dairy free. They are super handy for lunch boxes. We got some to try out, there’s still a little time left to enter a competition here to win some.

Next up, Haribo are edging in on the Easter market. Maybe these were available previous years but it’s the first time I’ve come across them. They are available in my local Tesco. They have a huge tub – Haribo Easter Fun with 32 individual bags, medium boxes Twist n Stick with bags and stickers and a novelty box which turns around to make 16 different Easter characters, and finally Chirping Chicks with pop out characters. Lots of nice packaging and dairy free fun.

Also on an Easter theme, Moo Free have two new flavour eggs out for Easter this year. One is Bunnycomb which contains honeycomb toffee infused in the egg shell, which sounds absolutely amazing! The other is caramelized hazelnut which has caramelized hazelnut infused in the shell. I haven’t found these locally yet, but I believe they are widely available in the UK. Last year I found the original moo free egg in my local health food shop.

My friend Merle gave me a box of Nakd “flavoured raisins”. They come in quite an unusual array of flavours – tangy lime, crazy cola, pineapple and cherry. They taste like sweets, my 2 year old is mad for them. They contain no artificial colours or flavours, and are just raisins with natural flavours. Another handy one for the snack on the go or for the lunchboxes.

I found a new Alpro yoghurt flavour in their 500ml tub size. We haven’t tasted it yet but lemon and lime sounds very tangy! Note the new nut allergy warning below the ingredients list.
