Advent Calendars 2013

It’s that time of year already. 6 working weeks to Christmas, trees and lights and Christmas music everywhere. I did a post about dairy free advent calendars last year and I’ve been asked already about what’s available this year. So here goes 2013’s finds.

MooFree have really established themselves this year with their dairy free organic milk chocolate products and they have an advent calendar available this year. I have yet to see it in the shops, it is usually the health stores that stock their products, but I am assured they are available in Ireland as well as the UK.

I have not been able to locate the Choices one from last year in Irish outlets, but Choices advise me that it is readily available in the UK in both Sainsburys and ASDA.

Holland and Barrett health shops have their own Organic Fairtrade Dairy Free Milky Advent Calendar available, on offer for about €4/£3.19 at the moment. I bought two in the UK for my boys but I’m reliably informed these are in the Holland and Barrett stores here in Ireland and can also be bought on their online store.

Imaginext have a calendar which is rescue themed and marketed ‘for boys’ and contains  3 figures, A motorcycle, 2 helmets, tools and many other play pieces. Priced at €15 but currently reduced to only €5 in Smyths at the moment!

Staying on toy ones, the Lego one is available again this year but an updated version for 2013 – Lego City Advent Calendar 60024. There is also Lego Star Wars 75023 and Lego Friends 41016.

Staying with the idea of non-chocolate calendars, I was in the Yankee candle store in Liffey valley lately and came across a novel candle advent calendar. Smells lovely and Christmassy! It is 27.99 but might make a nice present for someone at this time of year.
