Organix Goodies Fruit Bars
The people at Organix sent us these some of their new fruit bars to try out. The come in Apple & Date and Banana & Date flavours. The boys were delighted and tried to thief them before I got a chance to take photos. Luckily I rescued some. They are made with dates, dried fruit, rice flour, sunflower oil and that is it.
Both boys liked them, I sent them in the school lunch box and we had them when we went for a picnic too. It’s a healthy alternative to chocolate or other sweets, and my 3 year old particularly loved them. The Apple & Date flavour was the most popular with the boys but I preferred the banana & date. I definitely would buy these for lunchboxes or for after school treats.
They cost €2.99 per pack of 5 and they are available in Tesco.
Kookee Cookie Mixes
Kookee who make Irish handmade cookies and dry mixes contacted me on twitter recently to see if I would like to try their cookie mixes. They sent me four flavours – Coconut & Cranberry, Double Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal & Chocolate and Oatmeal & Raisin. All the mixes are gluten free and dairy free as they stand. You must use dairy free margarine to make them up to keep them dairy free.
We tried the Coconut & Cranberry. I usually make cookies from scratch, and I used this pack on a day when I had visitors coming. It definitely saved time measuring things out. The only thing I had to measure out was the margarine. The kids helped as it was so easy. One pack made about 12, and they were devoured. The coconut and cranberry flavours work really well together. I’m looking forward to trying the other flavours too.
Their website has many ideas for making the mixes dairy free and egg free also. You can find them in Supervalu stores.
Alpro Plain with Coconut
There’s a new addition on the Alpro yogurt shelf of the fridge, Alpro Plain with Cocnut which is a soya and coconut yogurt. I have bought a tub and am looking forward to trying it in smoothies this week. You can find it in Tesco and anywhere that normally stocks Alpro yogurts.
Tesco Free From Products
Tesco have a wonderful list of all their free from stuff in the chilled section. Many of the things I haven’t seen in Tesco stores in Ireland though, let me know if you spot the cheese spreads or the milkshakes!

Just Free Madeira and Chocolate Cake
These are part of Lidl’s new Just Free range. They are gluten free and wheat free and are may contain milk. I haven’t tasted myself but I have it on good authority that little people love the chocolate one and mammies too.

Gianni’s Raspberry Sorbet
Warning
Aldi Greenvale Margarine for Baking now CONTAINS MILK
Aldi’s Greenvale Perfect for Baking margarine used to be free from milk but the new packaging states that it now contains milk.
This is the old packaging which is free from milk.
