Christmas Product Watch 2016 #2
|I promised a second Christmas Product Watch with some dairy free options for Christmas and here it is. The first one was full of selection boxes and Christmas Chocolate and this one is more full of sticky sweets and jellies and biscuits with a few choccies thrown in for good measure.
Here’s the video of some of the treats I found
Plamil Chocolate Snowmen
These are organic, dairy free and nut free. Available in Holland & Barrett and good health stores. A bit pricey for what they are but the chocolate is delicious.
Choices Chocolate Santas
Available in Dunnes Stores, 2 for €2 while stocks last. and countrywide in health stores.
Jellies and Sweets
There’s a range of sweets in varying containers available for all budgets and needs – tubes, boxes, tubs, Christmas Crackers. I found a small box of Haribo star mix in Dealz for €1.49, an ideal stocking filler, not too many sweets in it. The others pictured are from Dunnes Stores and Tesco, but I’ve seen in all major supermarkets including Lidl and Aldi.
Chewits Selection Box
It’s rare to see a selection box of sweets rather than chocolate but Chewits have done just that. If you can handle that much stickiness, then this would be another nice dairy free option for kids.
Booja Booja Truffles
I found a range of Booja Booja truffles in the new Holland and Barrett that has opened in my home town. I didn’t get any for the kids but I did send some to my sister in the UK as I won’t be seeing her over Christmas. I’ll let you know what the verdict is but they are meant to be gorgeous. Dairy free, Gluten Free & Organic.
Jacobs Kimberley, Mikado & Coconut Creams
Childhood favourites, these Jacobs biscuits come in boxes of Kris Kimberley, Mistletoe Mikado and Snoconut Creams. If you can get over the cringey names then this is a fab alternative to traditional boxes of biscuits which will inevitably be full of biscuits containing milk. They don’t contain milk. They are €5 in Dunnes Stores, Tesco and SuperValu.
This is the second of 2 Christmas product watches. I will have a regular product watch come January with everyday bits and pieces. Watch out for a round up of our favourite Christmas baking with kids later in the week. You can also check out the Christmas Treats 2015 post for ideas as many of these goodies are available again this year. Let me know if you find some dairy free treasures for your little ones!
Disclaimer: I wasn’t asked to mention any of these, anything I tried was purchased myself and otherwise I was taking photos in the supermarket (again!). All opinions as always are my own.
