Recipe: Berry and Banana Smoothie
|Fruit is always a great treat/snack/dessert for dairy free kids, but sometimes you want to liven it up a bit. Smoothies are a great way to do this. Children enjoy the fun of throwing in all the fruit into the blender and watching it while it blends. The treat of being served a drink with a straw is always a bonus in our house too.
You will need:
- 8 or 9 strawberries or a handful of mixed berries, fresh or frozen
- 1 ripe banana
- 50g Alpro Simply Plain yoghurt / Vanilla pouring yoghurt /Vanilla goat’s yoghurt
- Dash of orange juice
How to make:
Blend all the ingredients together in a smoothie maker or blender. Pour and serve. It tastes best served straight away, but can be put in the fridge for a few hours before drinking. An easy way to get two of your kids five a day in one go.
If you are making some dairy free smoothies and some containing dairy yoghurt, it is best to do the dairy free ones first followed by the dairy ones, if doing the other way around, ensure to clean the blender thoroughly first.
