Our top 5 Dairy Free Easter Eggs
I was asked to go on Ireland AM on TV3 this week to speak about dairy free Easter eggs and to do a cooking slot with my son Oscar. I was nervous of course but jumped at the chance. We chose our top five dairy free Easter eggs to bring along.
A huge thank you to Caffrey’s Chocolate Warehouse, Celtic Chocolates, Holland & Barrett and Marks & Spencer for sending on some eggs for us to bring along for the show.
In no particular order here are our top five dairy free Easter eggs.
Moo Free Bunnycomb Easter Egg
€5.99
Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Organic and Vegan.
This is by far my favourite, mostly for taste reasons, the egg has little pieces of honeycomb throughout it. This is also Oscar’s favourite, he had already asked me if he could have one for Easter.
The Moo Free range is available in Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Centra, and health stores. It is distributed in Ireland by Caffrey’s Chocolate Warehouse.
Moo Free Original Easter Egg
€5.99
Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Soya Free, Organic and Vegan.
This one is on the list as it is the only egg I have found which is also Soya free. I often get asked where can poeple get soya free and dairy free chocolate so here is your answer. It also tastes delicious.
The Moo Free range is available in Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Centra, and health stores. It is distributed in Ireland by Caffrey’s Chocolate Warehouse.
Choices White Chocolate Egg with White Chocolate Discs
€4.50
Dairy Free, Gluten Free and Vegan.
I really like this one, it has lovely packaging and the white chocolate is a good alternative if you’re not fond of ‘milk’ type chocolates.
These are available in Aldi Ireland, some SuperValu and Dunnes Stores and in The Health Store, Holland & Barrett and independent health shops.
Marks & Spencer Made Without Dairy Dark Chocolate Easter Egg
€8.99
Dairy Free.
These are available in Marks & Spencer in two fab packages, one looks like a carrot, the other like a bunny. What distinguishes this one is that the chocolate is dark chocolate. Generally I find kids prefer the sweeter milk-style chocolate but if you can get them to eat the dark chocolate, it is much better for us I hear!
Holland & Barrett Good Egg
Moo Free Original
€4.99
Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Nut Free, Vegan.
This lovely packaged egg has the distinguishing feature of being nut free as well as dairy and gluten free. The chocolate is delicious and the price is reasonable. At buy one get one half price in Holland & Barrett at the moment, it is especially good value.
Available in Holland & Barrett stores and online.
What is your favourite free from Easter egg?

Based on your comment about the dairy free, soya free moo easter egg being delicious I got one last easter. I am allergic to soya and dairy intolerant. I am so sorry I did get the moo original easter egg, it was the most horrendous tasting dairy and soya free chocolate I ate in my life. I was so disappointed as I was looking forward as an adult to actually having an easter egg.
Hi Linda, I’m sorry you feel that way. As is the spirit of the blog, I write about my own and my boys’ experience being dairy free. I am afraid my ‘delicious’ or the boys’ ‘delicious’ isn’t going to be everyone’s. Such is life. I do not make the eggs so perhaps you should give feedback to Moo Free themselves. They are marketed towards children as you can see from the packaging. It is the only soya free egg I know of but if you find a better one please do let me know and I’ll include it in my roundup. Thanks, Laura
