Dairy Free Product Watch September 2016
|Welcome to September’s Dairy Free Product Watch. Here are a few things I found on the shelves this month. Have you found any new free from favourites lately?
Tasty Parlour Coffee & Walnut Cake
I found this in a Texaco Petrol Station shop on the way to Aunty Kit’s one day. Doubled as something to bring and the kids could even have a slice. It is gluten free, wheat free and dairy free and tastes quite close to a regular wheat flour coffee cake. It is also available in SuperValu stores. My 8-year-old loved and my 5-year-old turned up his nose but I guess coffee cake is more of an adult taste? Bonus is it’s made right here in County Wexford. Definitely check them out if you are a cake lover.
Alpro coconut Chocolate Milk
Needless to say the boys loved this chocolate milk treat from Alpro. It contains coconut milk and cocoa to make a delicious chocolate milk which can be served hot or cold. Find it in Tesco, Dunnes Stores and SuperValu. Dairy free.
Koko Dairy Free Vegetable Spread
I’m delighted to see more dairy free options for butter alternatives lately, there are now four or five choices. I must do a post dedicated to Butter alternatives soon. The newest I’ve spotted is from Koko Dairy Free. This one is great as it is dairy free and soya free so caters for people who need to be free from both.
Kinnerton Just Bars
I spotted these dark chocolate 85g bars in Aldi Ireland. They are dairy free, egg free, gluten free and nut free. It states on the packaging that they are ideal for cakes and desserts so I believe they are more a cooking chocolate than eating chocolate. They seem to be in the specials section of Aldi so probably not going to be part of permanent stock.

Tasty Parlour are great, if you’re ever in Wexford on a Friday she has a stand at the farmers market in Super Valu carpark. Also Rake of Cakes in the bullring, her stuff is divine and I’m pretty certain she does some dairy free too :)
Oh wow, it might be worth the drive down on a Friday :) And I will check out Rake of Cakes also. Thanks for the tips!
That coffee and walnut cake looks goooood! I’m also a big fan of KoKo products. I used to use their coconut milk a lot when my little girl was allergic to milk protein. Thanks for linking to #FreeFromFridays lovely
Thanks, that cake is fab!
