Review and Giveaway: Feel Free for Gluten Free Granola Bars

I met the team from Feel Free for Gluten free at the Allergy and Free From Expo in Dublin in October. They have a wide range of gluten free foods, their granola bars and pastas are also dairy free. They gave me some packs of their granola bars to review. They were Blueberry Granola Bars, Chocolate Chip Granola Bars and Mixed Fruit Granola Bars.  The blueberry ones had blueberries and cranberries with granola and were my favourite of the three. Both boys loved them. They are about 120 calories per bar and are a filling snack. They are dairy free, wheat free and gluten free and contain soya, almonds and peanuts. Their allergy advice panel states: Gluten Free, Wheat Free & Dairy Free.

The Mixed Fruit one also went down well, a delicious mix of dried apricots and cranberries and granola. They are about 115 calories per bar. Again they are dairy free, wheat free and dairy free and labelled clearly. They do contain soya, almonds and peanuts.

The favourite by far with the boys were the chocolate chip granola bars, there were plenty of chocolate chips and a layer of chocolate along the base of each bar,  making it a real treat for kids that don’t get chocolate very often. I would love to be able to get these in a sweet shop or as a snack while out and about. Calorie wise they came in at about 105 calories so on a par with many low calorie snacks. Again they are dairy free, wheat free and gluten free and contain soya and have a may contain for tree nuts.

I gave my son one of these a few times as part of his lunch and he was delighted. I would love to see these available singly on shelves in sweet shops and coffee shops. I would definitely include these as a sometimes treat for the school lunchbox or as a handy snack on a day out. They are a snack which works well for both adults and children.

Feel Free for Gluten Free products are becoming more widely available in Ireland and can be found in Supervalu, Costcutter, Spar and a range of other stockists.
